Meet J.P. Kauer
Meet J.P. Kauer — Miami-raised, father of four, and living proof that chaos can, in fact, be turned into comedy.
A military veteran turned stand-up comic, J.P. went from serving his country to serving brutally honest punchlines — same discipline, just a lot more questionable life choices on stage. His comedy leans dark, real, and just uncomfortable enough to make you laugh and then immediately wonder what that says about you.
As a dad of four, J.P. doesn’t need to make things up — life’s already doing the writing. His material pulls from parenting, relationships, everyday survival, and those thoughts most people have but are smart enough not to say out loud. J.P.? Not so much.
He’s hit just about every stage you can think of — comedy clubs, festivals, podcasts, and random venues across the country — building a reputation for being quick, fearless, and just unpredictable enough to keep audiences on their toes (and occasionally concerned). Along the way, he’s shared stages with comics like Marshall Brandon (yes, the one who opens for Dave Chappelle), Shaun Weiss, and DeRay Davis, and performed at spots like the Miami Improv. He also made his mark in Florida’s Funniest in 2022 — which says a lot, because… it’s Florida, and he recently performed at the first-ever Coconut Grove Comedy Festival, because obviously, he wasn’t going to miss that.
Off stage, J.P. is the guy making sure the show actually happens. As a producer, he runs some of the most talked-about comedy shows in South Florida — the kind where the crowd is hot, the comics are funnier than they should be, and nobody checks their phone.
J.P. Kauer isn’t trying to be everyone’s favorite comedian — just the one you keep thinking about after the show.
Catch him live… just maybe don’t sit too close.
